My fun dog diary

Border collie

I’ve been somewhat obsessed with finding a new dog since we lost our beloved pooch a couple months ago, long before his time.  We tried rehoming a dog, but that didn’t work out.  We have a deposit down on a puppy (one of breeds shown in this diary).

I thought I would write just a fun little diary to show the types of dog I think are attractive.  Basically I like a kind of wolfish semi-wild look, with not too much obvious overbreeding.

One of the reasons I want a dog is that I’m at the age where the doctor sends me an email telling me I have to walk more.

(Thank goodness it’s not a recommendation that I write a will!)  Anyway, it’s a lot easier walking when you have a dog.  First off, you’re not alone, and that’s a good psychological boost.

Second, strangers will talk with you, which is something we need more of, so our world becomes a nicer place, if only for a little bit.

The dog breaks the ice (as long as he’s friendly).  So people don’t see you as just another shuffling bum, you’re on a mission, even if it is only walking the dog.

I have this weird theory and that is that people who own dogs will live longer, because just walking the dog is good for you.  Plus it gives something to be positive about, which in our world of trouble that’s something we all need.

Not to bring politics into this too much, but isn’t it strange that Donald Trump is the first president in a long time not to have a dog?

As far as I know Trump  doesn’t have any pets at all.  It seems like it would be a good political move to have a dog, because it would help humanize the president, as well as be a psychological boost from an extremely stressful job.
